Spencer,

First, there is not really a need to disconnect. You can either leave UC running or just close it without disconnecting, it will have no side effects what soever.

That said, I will look into the issue one of these days.

Reference my last comment: when I say Control Panel I mean the Uniden Commander panel, not the XP CP!!

Am considering using your s/w as ARC785 is too complex. However; when I go to disconnect, using the File tab, the Control Panel picture breaks up,the process freezes and the only way to restart/disconnect is to use Task Manager to end the task and then to reload using the desktop icon.

I am using Windows XP with an AMD 2813mhz X86 Family 16Model5 Stepping 2 Authentic processor with 3GB of main memory.

Hallo Elmer

Hi Liam,

I'm quite pleased with my 785. It's fast, has a lot of options, is easy to use, and can be remote controlled using my UnidenCommander software :) So, yes, I would recommend it!

Uniden Commander versie 0.3.3.0
Ik heb dezelfde fout op 3 pc's...

Hi,

Thanks very much, that's exactly what I was after.

I'm now playing with my UBC785XLT using an RS232 cable and Hyperterm :-)

Cheers,

Hi,

Thanks for that, but I had a brief look and couldn't find the control codes.

I'd like to try Uniden Commander but I see it requires NET to run and I'm reluctant to install that just for one program. Any chance of a standalone version?

Cheers,
Len

Len,

Please have a look at the UnidenCommander sources on SourceForge, all your questions should be answered there...

Hi,

I've downloaded your software but have to wait for an RS232 cable before I can try it out. As a programmer myself I'm interested in where you got the control codes for the UBC785XLT as I can't find them on the net.

Cheers,
Len

Hi Dwayne,
I'm aware of this problem, but have not been able to fix it because I do not have access to a 780.

Hi Mike,

I currently have experimental support for the BC780 (I don't own one), but it is proving extremely difficult to program for a scanner that I don't own. Testing for the BC780 is now done by a friend and takes loads of time and back-and-forth mailing.
I am perfectly willing to add support for the BC250, but I need a specimen to work with. And as this is a hobby project for the moment, I don't have any intention of buying one in the near future.
I am thinking about putting UnidenCommander in the open source community, then maybe others can add support for scanners of their choice.

I hope to hav answered your question, even though it may not be satisfactory.

Kind regards, Elmer

Any chance of making UC available for the handheld version? I have a BC250D that I would love to use with your interface.
